Meet Sherryl Hardy

A fourth-generation native of Gillette, Wyoming, Sherryl Hardy grew up deeply rooted in traditional ranching values and developed a lifelong connection to animals through both farm life and competitive rodeo. From an early age, she spent countless hours around livestock and horses, learning responsibility, patience, and respect for animal care. She also traveled across five states competing in Little Britches Rodeo events, including barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying, and proudly represented Laramie at the National Finals Rodeo.

Her early experiences caring for animals naturally grew into a deeper calling. What began as hands-on responsibility on the ranch turned into a strong desire to formally understand animal health and well-being. She pursued that passion at Bel-Rea Institute for Animal Studies, where she earned a degree in Animal Science and graduated at the top of her class. She went on to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and spent 17 years working closely with board-certified veterinarians in advanced small animal practice, gaining extensive experience in both medical care and compassionate handling.

In 2005, Sherryl returned home to Gillette and purchased John Henry’s Country Kennel, turning her lifelong passion into a community commitment. Today, she continues to provide trusted, compassionate pet care for families in Gillette, Rozet, and throughout Northeast Wyoming, treating every animal as if they were her own.
